MCP tools
The tools of Synq's MCP server, their inputs and the scope each needs.
Synq's MCP server answers with these tools, each one call to the management API made as the person who signed in: the same permissions, limits and audit log. Every call needs the read scope, and a tool that changes something needs the write scope too. See MCP for how a host connects.
| Scope | What it allows |
|---|---|
synq.read | Read your orgs, brands, custom domains, apps, users, audit log and webhooks |
synq.write | Turn sign-in providers and built-in ways to sign in on or off, choose the ways an app takes, set brand colours, add and check custom domains, and send test webhooks |

set_sign_in_provider
Turn a sign-in provider on or off. Turns Google, GitHub, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, X, Discord, Telegram or Matrica on or off on a brand's sign-in. Turning one off stops new sign-ins with it; turning it on again brings it back. The audit log records it. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
provider | Yes | |
enabled | Yes |
set_sign_in_method
Turn a built-in way to sign in on or off. Turns one of a brand's built-in ways to sign in on or off: email (a code or link emailed), password, passkey or wallet (a Solana wallet). Off, nobody signs up, signs in or adds it with it, and sessions already made with it go on; on again brings it back. Upstream providers are set_sign_in_provider's. The audit log records it. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
method | Yes | |
enabled | Yes |
set_app_sign_in_methods
Choose the ways to sign in an app takes. Sets the ways to sign in one app takes, of those its brand offers: built-in (email, password, passkey, wallet) or upstream providers (github, google…); null takes every way the brand offers again. Its sign-ins offer only these, and someone signed in another way signs in again with one of them. The audit log keeps the old list, so setting it again undoes it. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
app | Yes | The app's id, app_… |
methods | Yes | Method ids, such as ["github", "google"]; null for every way the brand offers |
set_app_test_sign_ins
Turn test sign-ins on or off for an app. Turns test sign-ins on or off for one app, on Synq's stages other than production (production refuses it). With them on, the app's sign-ins also offer test: a made-up GitHub or Google account your end-to-end tests describe (its age, public repositories, a Workspace domain…), on the hosted page or headless through /authorize-challenge, never a real account. Its linked accounts say test: true. Turning it off again undoes it. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
app | Yes | The app's id, app_… |
on | Yes | true to offer test sign-ins, false to stop |
set_brand_colours
Set a brand's colours. Sets a brand's sign-in page colours, as #rrggbb. The audit log keeps the old ones, so setting them again undoes it. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
primary_color | No | Buttons and links |
background_color | No | The page |
get_custom_domain
Read a brand's custom domain. A brand's custom sign-in domain, such as login.acme.com: whether it answers yet, the DNS record its owner adds and what Synq last saw there, its certificate, and what to fix. Its issuer is the brand's second issuer once it answers. Needs synq.read.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
add_custom_domain
Add a custom domain to a brand. Adds a subdomain the org owns, such as login.acme.com, as the brand's custom sign-in domain (Pro and up), and returns the one CNAME record its owner adds at their DNS provider. Nothing answers on it until that record proves they control the name, and the brand's own issuer keeps working either way. Removing a custom domain stops every app that uses it, so that is done in the Synq dashboard, never from here. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
hostname | Yes | A subdomain of a domain the org owns, such as login.acme.com: never the domain itself |
verify_custom_domain
Check a brand's custom domain now. Checks a brand's custom domain's DNS record and certificate now, and carries it on as far as it goes, rather than waiting for the next scheduled check. Once a minute for a domain. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
send_test_webhook
Send a test webhook. Sends a test event to a webhook's endpoint, to check it answers. Changes nothing in Synq. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
webhook | Yes | The webhook's id, whk_… |
request_redirect_uris_change
Ask to change an app's redirect URIs. Asks to set an app's redirect URIs to this list. Nothing changes until you approve it in the Synq dashboard, at the approve_url this returns, within 15 minutes: share that link with the person and wait. A redirect URI decides where sign-ins go, so Synq never changes one from an AI host alone. Needs synq.read and synq.write.
| Input | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
org | Yes | The org's id, org_… |
brand | Yes | The brand's id, brd_… |
app | Yes | The app's id, app_… |
redirect_uris | Yes | The app's redirect URIs as they should be: the whole list, not an addition |
